Celebrity Charity Cycle for Hope for Justice

28th March 2014

Just a few months ago on 13th May our own James Altham (Director), joined Gavin Murray (pastor), Ben Cooley (the CEO of Hope for Justice) and Emmerdale's, Tom Lister, (who played villain Carl King) as they set off on an epic journey that took them from Latvia to Southampton in just 19 days.

It meant cycling 100 miles a day and together with his team mates they pushed their bodies to the limit, crossing through six countries and cycling in the most awful conditions.

The grueling journey measures an incredible distance of 2,715 km and it was all done to raise awareness and funds for the "Zoe Challenge".

James recalls the moment, saying "The Zoe Challenge highlights the plight of young girls who are trafficked into the UK for sexual exploitation. We hope to raise awareness of human trafficking by cycling the same route as one particular girl, Zoe, was taken. We also want to raise finance for the vital work of "Hope for Justice", the organization set up to help bring freedom to these modern day slaves".

He said "There were times when we just wanted to give up, but when we talked and thought about what Zoe and so many others have been through, we knew we had to carry on".

After months of investigation, the charity Hope for Justice found and rescued Zoe and she's now living in freedom.

The cyclists reached the finish line at Southampton and raised a staggering total of £221,400.
