Althams Butchers is one of the oldest and largest independent family owned & run butchers in the country. We specialise in quality meat and meat products for wholesale, serving hotels, restaurants (including several Michelin Star establishments), pub chains, conferencing venues and catering companies UK wide. We operate a state of the art plant in Morecambe, Lancashire. Our Location on the edge of the Lake District, Lancashire and Yorkshire gives us access to some of the best cattle and lamb markets in the UK.

Today James & Richard Altham the great, great, grandsons of the founder run the business and like all good family businesses they are determined that the fifth generation make their mark! As a Company, whose origins were farm based; and indeed today the fourth and fifth generation of the family are still involved on a daily basis in farming and butchery.

We continue to take great care in the provenance, selecting and preparing all our products using our traditional methods. Our butchers and staff, many have service of 15-25 years, are dedicated to producing the product you ask for.

With investment in our company we have one of the most advanced order processing and packaging lines in the industry. This ensures from the moment you place the order it is prepared, labelled, packaged and delivered by a team that care about its customers.

To accomplish and maintain the highest food safety & quality standards we utilize a independent ukas accredited laboratories for all our microbiological & chemical analysis including random product & water testing, shelf life verification & hygiene cleaning validation.

Distribution

Our modern fleet of temperature controlled vehicles are replaced on regular basis to maintain prime efficiency.
